Death/Doom From Burgos, the duo comprising Graveyard Of Souls have a comparatively upbeat melodic Doom sound that leans quite heavily on Metal and Death Metal roots, at times quite reminiscent of early Amorphis' catchy, riff-laden, tunefulness. Gruff and clean vocals and dominant guitar are supplemented by some female voice and mostly supporting keyboards, sometimes coming to the fore for more atmospheric pieces. Perhaps a few too many uptempo leads and solos for Doom purists to be totally comfortable with, but it could well resonate most with those who enjoy Metal-based Trad/Epic styles. |
