De Profundis

United Kingdom - Active.

Description

Death/Doom

This british five piece mix bleakness and melancholy with their melodic black/doom metal. The music is in the vein of Katatonia's 'Dance of December Souls' era, but with some melodic doom/death elements. A somewhat experimental band with the occational high-speed outburst, but not more than that it adds the little extra pinch of spice/cianide.
On their third album, they abandoned most Doom elements in favour of a style mostly rooted in Melodic Death Metal with some Black Metal outbursts and progressive flourishes influenced by Opeth. Hence, they have to be considered a former Doom band.
