Funeral Doom, Pagan/Ritualist Blood of the Black Owl plays funeral doom with traditional doom and doom/death influences. It's clearly inspired by norse mythology as well as general paganist culture. It's bleak, slow and incredibly heavy, sporting lots of samples from nature, occational folk instruments and a variety of whispered and growled vocals. A very unique band which perhaps would have been most similar to Scald if they sported strong funeral doom elements. |
