Quick introductory interview.

Interview with Mountain King.
1. Who are you and how did the band get started?

Mountain King from Knoxville, TN:
Mike Hardy-Vocals
Jason Brockman-Guitar
Justin Hembree-Bass
Leo Dyer-Drums

Through a couple lineup changes in a time period of about a year and a half, the above four came together with a common love for all things heavy in music. Jason, Justin and Leo have an extensive history of jam sessions and attempts at rounding out a solid lineup for a band. Having reunited to do so once again, a friend/coworker of Justin's came down to hang out and jam for fun.

Mike asserted that he would be interested in giving the vocals a shot. He rounded this band out perfectly, giving the collective a dirty blackened edge.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?

Doom is a style that comes and feels natural for us all. Mountain King displays elements of traditional, bluesy, and sometimes atmospheric characteristics with a blackened element mostly brought to the table by the intense ferocity of Mike's vocals. 3

. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?

For now, just being out there playing shows, and writing new material when possible.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?

Black Sabbath; Melvins; Acid Bath and thousands more of course.

5. What are your plans for the near future?

We are active playing shows now while writing new material, and hope to have a solid recording done before year's end.

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.

We love what we do, we feel it, and we hope people get that about us when they hear or see us live.
