Quick introductory interview.

Interview with Hollow Leg.
1. Who are you and how did the band get started?

Hollow Leg from Florida. Lynch and Creter started the band as a duo in 2008, releasing the first record INSTINCT in 2010. We joined up with Angelacos and Crowther from Junior Bruce shortly thereafter and began a new chapter as a 4 piece releasing ABYSMAL in 2013 and CROWN in 2016. We are now working into the 3rd phase of hollow leg joined now by John Stewart formerly of Caribou King on drums.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?

We didn't exactly choose doom, but were all fans of doom bands and of course Sabbath and wanted to do something riff driven, loud, and heavy. Our style has been lumped in with doom but more we see sludge as a moniker and more still with a combination doom/sludge/stoner all lumped together, but it's all just Sabbath worship and love of heavy riffs loud drums and loud amps.

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?

Having the good fortune to record and release 3 full lengths plus now an EP and a single (God Eater) has been the best thing. Being able to remain as a band (albeit in different forms) for 8+ years now is a big deal. We've had the good fortune along the way to play with and even tour with some great bands, and we're looking forward to more of that to come.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?

We all listen to so much different music that's really hard to nail down, but certainly we all love Black Sabbath and that is at the core of us...the Melvins as well...and either Sleep or EHG, those are the bands that really drove us specifically to this style of playing.

5. What are your plans for the near future?

Releasing our new EP MURDER this March and then we have some great shows coming up in FL followed by East Coast tour in June along with and appearance at MD doom fest for the second time, and finally we will be part of Psycho Las Vegas in August.
