Quick introductory interview

Interview with Vale of Amonition.

1. Who are you and how did the band get started ?
We are Vale of Amonition, a doom metal band from Uganda. The band was formed May 6th 2009 in Kampala and we have been active ever since. We've recorded and played around East Africa and have two full length albums independently released.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?
Doom metal perfectly connects with the ideas we are trying to bring forth in our music. Our music is dark and atmospheric and the lyricism is based around stories concerning the Vale of Amonition, a place we created out of the strands of myth and reality. Each song and album adds to the tales of the Vale. We describe our style as Progressive Doom/Death metal.

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?
Being able to put out our material and share it with the wider world. Being able to communicate our ideas and share the tales of the Vale.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?
My Dying Bride, Solitude Aeturnus, Black Sabbath.

5. What are your plans for the near future?
To tour Europe and release more music....get it out there as much as possible.

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.
We are proud to be the torch-bearers of our land as far as extreme metal is concerned and we are proud and honoured to be a part of the international doom scene where incredible bands and artists thrive.
