Quick introductory interview

Interview with Myopic Empire.

1. Who are you and how did the band get started?
I am Devon Fern and my band is called Myopic Empire. The band started back in 2012 when myself and a friend decided to pool our influences and create some heavy metal-influenced doom. The band has gone through a couple of lineups since, but is now a solo project.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?
Doom is the heaviest music on the planet! I love the slow groove that good doom has. My style is heavily influenced my mid-era Grand Magus, Candlemass and other traditional doom. Sometimes you might hear elements of stoner doom or grunge.

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?
I try to get better with every new thing I do, so I rarely look back in a nostalgic fashion. The band has done some great gigs and released some great music. The upcoming release, a split with Luciferís Fall, is the heaviest release so far, and I hope to build on that with forthcoming releases.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?
Candlemass, Age of Taurus and Horn of the Rhino

5. What are your plans for the near future?
The next release will be a full-length album that is the first part of a triptych of albums. A single will follow that, before I start work on the second part of the triptych!

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.
Doom is forever!
