Tomorrow, July 30th, the first new material in 5 years from my (previously-defunct) band Torture Wheel will be released online. It is a track called 'Obsidian Sorrow' and is part of the NULLL Collective's monthly "INFRA" download series.
I do intend to fully resurrect Torture Wheel and pick up where i left off in 2005. 'Obsidian Sorrow' is the first of 5 new tracks that are written and ready to be recorded for a full-length release.
I will add a link here tomorrow directing towards the mp3/flac download. _________________ E.M. Hearst - current projects:

Yeah, let's see... will take me a while to download this piece right now, but I'm definitely curious. Thinking of which, I guess you must be quite upset by the attitude of that Scarecrow guy... What do you mean? Does it have anything to do with that new Wraith of the Ropes album which has never been released? Speaking of which is WotR still active?
OT: Good news. Always liked Torture Wheel. Ill be checking it out! |

Well, if I remember correctly, the story about disbanding TeeWee was due to sub_demoni_vex' 1. aim at working 100% for WotR and 2. that TW became in a way more prolific and known than WotR, which was anticipated by mr. Hearst as his main project. So if TW is resurrected, it probably means that WotR is stagnating or perhaps even buried. I'll leave my further deductions to myself. _________________ Sonic terrorism is too important to be left to ideological amateurs. |

It is unclear if WotR is still active... i don't even know myself. Scarecrow and I barely have any contact anymore and haven't spoken for probably half a year.
'Stagnant' is a perfect word for the WOTR situation... our second album has sat unfinished on the shelf collecting dust for the past five years, and it has nearly driven me insane, so i cannot wait any longer... i am simply moving on..... returning to Torture Wheel as my main outlet, along with the 'NULLL Collective' and 'Synaptic Fracture' projects.
...perhaps the wotr album will surface in some distant future... maybe a decade or so from now ha. _________________ E.M. Hearst - current projects:

A "Dying wish" for now? I remember I must have been one of the first persons to have bought Ada back those 5 years ago or so. At that time I really liked it, but I have to admit it wore a bit off with time (which is not to say it is bad, although in certain places it started to feel a bit inconsistent in a very specific way). In any case, you guys had really a lot of invention and I really believed you were up to something grand to come in a while. Hopefully now TW gets to bear the wretched torch. And sorry for the rant... _________________ Sonic terrorism is too important to be left to ideological amateurs. |

you should all listen to the Nulll Collective release, De Monstris:it has definitely a TW vibe at times. Great album ( that christmas song is .... stunning!) _________________ the truth lies in the bottom of a bottomless well. |

Aye, even i admit that Ada album can wear you down after awhile... almost too depressing to me at times (and that's hard to do! ha). I can see what you mean about inconsistencies at times... it could have done with a bit more brevity in places... but i personally still really like that whole album (even tho i never listen to it =P).
Funny you mention "dying wish"... i'm pondering now what to call this new TW album. the "old Dying Wish" album i wrote was scraped and scavenged for parts to Sad Sun, NULLL Collective, and WOTR songs that never got released... and now those songs are too old for me to even bother with any more... i don't "feel" them any more.
...maybe i'll still call this new album dying wish, even though it has nothing to do with the original planned 'dying wish' circa 2006.
@baphomet: glad you like the x-mas track! We've received a surprisingly high amount of positive feedback on that particular song... we will definitely continue releasing annual christmas songs online... it is now our tradition. _________________ E.M. Hearst - current projects:

Well, gave Ada a spin on Sunday after some year or so... "inconsistency" is probably a harsh word, but there might be some parts which I would call "slightly over-speculated". But don't get me wrong, so many bands seem to me to lack the kind of distinct "face" of their own like you did on that album... and then you hear cheese with 20-30 times as high a recording budget, plus an army of managers, lawyers and other losers fabricating their originality...
And today's : speaking of Christmas songs, my fave is that by The Gerogerigegege, called "White Christmas, White Sperm" (WARNING: don't open this link if you are below masturbation age! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPqlOtRZEdk )... such a looong orgasm for Santa. I'm wondering how would a doom version of it sound like, heheheheheh *
* Note: of course, that is not necessarily implying that it is TNC's duty to cover this one, nor any association between underground doom and sexual exhibitionism _________________ Sonic terrorism is too important to be left to ideological amateurs. |
