Corrupted : La Victima Es Tu Mismo

'La Victima Es Tu Mismo' (translated: "the victim is yourself"), like Corrupted's early releases, have quite prominent hardcore influences. However, unlike the early releases, these two tracks have noisier guitars and a slightly ghastly sound.

Allthough I do not understand the lyrics as I don't understand more than a tiny bit of spanish, the cover art tells quite a bit about the meaning of the name of this 7". It's an image of a man with a dagger, standing in the shadows of some ruins. This makes me suspect that it has something to do with war or hostility. And I do think that hatred always returns back to you.

The name of the second track, 'Los Colores Del Cielo' (translated: "the color of the sky"), makes me suspect that this might also be about mankind ruining the world that we live in. And since we are a part of this world, we are surely ruining ourselves at the same time. Whichever meaning the names have, the ugly music makes it very clear that it is something that's not too good at all.

This 7" is best summed up as a release which would be loved by those who enjoy really filthy music. This is far too dark for the heart of a romantic. In fact, I think it's too dark for the average black metal fan to enjoy.
