Atmospheric Doom, Black/Doom This four piece from Moscow have created the Russian equivalent to Agalloch's 'The Mantle'. Their approach is more doom influenced than their Oregon counterparts, and other lines of similarity can be drawn to bands such as Canaan, This Empty Flow and Kauan. The characteristics of the music include soft clean vocals, a light but sombre mood, a strong connection to folk music, and a fusing of elements from black, gothic and death metal as well as alternative/indie rock. The Morningside is somewhat borderline and not all will find it to be a doom metal band. |
