The Knell

Israel/Chile - Active.

Description

Death/Doom

Solid and generally very slow death/doom-metal with a lot of potential. Worth checking out if you like bands like My Dying Bride and early Anathema. The Knell manages to keep sounding fresh and come up with their own musical ideas.

Misc

Originally formed in Israel in the late 1990s, The Knell had a turbulent history, which more-or-less ended when founder Alec Zalogin moved to Chile in 2011. Though he collaborated with other bands after that point, it was more on an individual basis: due to issues with other similarly-named bands, he does not formally use the name there. In the 2018 interview above, he describes the band as "not dead...just dormant".
