| Funeral Doom Hailing from Easthampton, Massachusetts, Vacant Eyes was started as a solo project in 2011 by previously Death/Black metaller Josh Moran. By 2014, after the release of the debut EP, the band expanded to a 6-piece, including three guitars, keyboards - and cello. Playing atmospheric, often uptempo Funeral-based doom with primarily harsh vocals, the band configuration and sound invites some comparison with Esoteric, but also - in the more melancholic passages - with Mournful Congregation. |
