| Progressive Doom, Death/Doom Eclectic self-described 'Orchestral Progressive Doom Metal' from Sydney, Rise Of Avernus span genres from Gothic Rock to Death/Doom. The former, in the vein of All About Eve, is greatly enhanced by female vocals that sound uncannily like Julianne Regan's. The latter has influences drawn from early Anathema/Paradise Lost. Somewhere in between are traces of Opeth and Dimmu Borgir, along with a mix of clean and harsh male vocals. Recommended for those who enjoy Symphonic-based Metal of all sorts. |
