| Sludge/Doom Of Spire & Throne are a three-piece from Edinburgh, Scotland, describing themselves as "The spirit and the self via riffs, space and slow bludgeoning". Very slow, ultra-heavy, extended tracks are their staple: repeated, immersive low-end riffs punctuated by quiet growled vocals. Despite the massive sound, the music is often reflective and melancholic in nature, rather than the aggressiveness frequently inherent to Sludge: this should find favour with those who appreciate bands such as Ortega, at the more spacious and atmospheric end of the Post-Metal/Sludge genre. |
