King Woman

United States of America - Active.

Description

Atmospheric Doom, Post-Metal/Post-Core

Meeting somewhere in between Shoegaze, Drone, and Doom Metal, King Woman create music that is raw and bleak, but also ethereal. Beginning as a solo project of the band's frontwoman, Kristina Esfandiari, she initially created minimalistic sounding psychedelic/drone music. Over time, the project has grown to a full band, and with the band's first album, Created in the Image of Suffering, their sound has become much heavier. The riffs are loud and droning, yet when mixed with Esfarandi's dreamy clean voice, the music goes for an effect similar to that created by the likes of Windhand or The River.
