The band Tarkus was formed in 1971, and included drummer Walo Carillo, guitarist Alex Nathanson and bassist Guillermo Van Lacke. After one release, the band split up in '72, and was eventually reformed in 2008 by Nathanson, Carillo and Van Lacke's son Christian. They released a second album, of previously unrecorded original material, before changing their name to Tlön (after short story 'Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius' by Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges). The band split up in 2012, and Van Lacke moved on to other similar projects Tortuga and Comeflor. Despite being disbanded, there still plans to record album Tlön IV' at some point. |
