Stoner/Doom Solace is a doom band most heavily inspired by early Black Sabbath, although they are sometimes characterized as a stoner band as well. Alternately clean and screaming vocals by Jason combine with Tommy Southard's fluid guitar work and Rob Hultz's deep, distorted bass to produce a Sabbathy mix that is remarkably English-sounding for an American band. The lyrics are both abstract and deeply personal. One of the best doomy bands from the US. |

Guitarist Tommy Suthard and bassist Rob Hultz have both formerly played in the heavy metal band Godspeed. Funny trivia: The Allmusic.com page about the band had apparently confused them with a hindu-folk band at one point. |
