Traditional Doom, Black/Doom Traditional Doom from Belgium featuring the lead singing of Michelle Nocon (Death Penalty, ex-Serpentcult). The music is led by a thick and low guitar tone, creating intense riffs, melodic leads, and dreamy clean sections. Nocon's singing ranges mostly consists of sinister cleans in a manner similar to Mandy Andresen, though she also throws in some witchy blackened rasps from time to time to add an occult vibe to the music. The tempo is mostly kept to a mournful, painfully slow pace, though occasional outbursts of Black and Heavy Metal riffage pop up as well. Similarities to bands ranging from Jex Thoth, to Warning, to Murkrat can be picked up on, giving Bathsheba a very versatile and atmospheric take on the style. |
