Avantgarde Doom A truly bizarre and avant-garde band from Norway. Beyond Dawn initially played an unorthodox and ambiguous kind of death/doom metal, eventually pursuing a dark electronic trip-hop direction. Their first full-length album, Pity Love, is perhaps their most well-known work, consisting of eerie blackened doom mixed with heavy gothic rock influences (especially in the weepy clean vocals), and predominant use of the trombone! Fans of Anathema's Pentecost III-era and The 3rd and the Mortal's more experimental works may be able to get into this. |
