Evoken

USA - Active.

Description

Death/Doom

Evoken is regarded by many as one of the best active death/doom-metal bands around. Evoken plays uncompromisingly heavy, slow, depressive Death/Doom with Funeral elements. The band creates a dark atmosphere with their music, and their overall sound is beyond heavy. Older work shows more of a Death Metal influence, with rather fast passages in their songs.

Misc

Originally formed in 1992, under the name Funereus, in 1994 the band took the name Evoken from the Thergothon song found on 'Fhtagn nagh Yog-Sothoth'.
